Recognising industry leaders
Nominations for outstanding trenchless industry people, projects and new technologies for the 2013 ASTT awards will close 1 July 2013.
The ASTT Awards recognise the best in Trenchless Technology in Australasia; and provide you with a great opportunity to promote your company and the great work that you do.
2013 ASTT categories:
Person of the Year
Young Person of the Year
Project of the Year – New installation
Project of the Year – Rehabilitation
New Technology – Machine, Tool, Material, System or Technique
Criteria –
Projects of the Year:
You can nominate a project that you have been involved with or any other project you are aware of provided it has been completed in Australasia. Projects will be judged on; innovation in concept, novelty of technology, environmental benefit, and occupational health and safety benefit, as well as overall presentation.
New Technology:
New Technology should demonstrate a practical development of trenchless systems or equipment the results in benefits such as improved economy, accuracy, speed of drive or replacement, ability to overcome difficult installations, etc.
Person of the Year:
You can nominate an individual who has made major and sustained contributions to the trenchless industry in any area of activity within the industry. The Award recognises a contribution over and above the call of duty. (It does not recognise contributions to a specific company; rather to the whole industry.)
Young Person of the Year:
This award also recognises major contributions to the industry, but the nominee must be aged under 40 as at 1 September 2013.

ISTT Awards
ISTT is accepting applications for the 2013 No-Dig Annual Award, to be presented at the International No-Dig in Sydney. Only finalists in the 2012 ASTT Awards and ASTT Members are eligible to enter the ISTT Awards.
All award winners are (1) recognised at the conference (2) featured in an article in Trenchless International, (3) added to the ISTT award winner role on the ISTT website, and (4) are authorised to use the ISTT logo on promotional material related to the award. The student award winner receives a small cash award and limited financial travel assistance to attend the Conference.
2013 ISTT categories:
Academic research or training aid/course
Trenchless project completed
New machine, tool, material, system or technique introduced
Student or young professional paper - Members regularly enrolled in college or university, or spending at least half their time on academic course work
Nominations for ISTT awards will close 30 June 2013.
Australasian members wanting to nominate for the ISTT Awards must be approved by the ASTT Council prior to submission, and can contact ASTT Secretary Jeff Pace at jeffpace@astt.com.au for more information.
